Hello and BUH BYE!
Holy hell it’s been a long time since I’ve written anything that didn’t have something to do with work! Let’s see what’s happened in the last 2.5 plus years.
I got engaged and married during a global pandemic in my backyard with my closest friends and family
I ran a WHOLE LOT of half marathons.
Lost a ridiculous amount of important people in my life..
It’s been REALLY hard but honestly what isn’t these days? Stuff is just hard.
So I find myself in a place where I feel like it’s time to document the next part of my journey. After 10 years of saving money, continuing to train, and maintaining my weight loss, the time has come to rid myself of the spare tire that is my stomach skin. I found a surgeon who is a the best in Atlanta and also a distance runner and I’m confident that THIS WEDNESDAY will be a life changing next step for me. He thinks 8-10 pounds of skin. The surgery will take 4 hours, I’ll be home the same day and walking within an hour of waking up. 8 weeks of recovery will be the most mentally challenging thing I have ever done!
I was supposed to run 13 miles today but I sacrificed that for my safety on Wednesday - however I celebrated the journey it’s taken me to get here. I promised myself I’d be as strong as I possibly could be on surgery day and honored that. I missed no runs and I end the year at a respectable 347 miles.
I will continue to update my progress here. Meanwhile enjoy this crazy photoshoot I did to commemorate the end of this nonsense!
